Portugal: Mobile Coverage & Carriers
Portugal has three major mobile network operators: MEO, Vodafone, and NOS. All three networks commercially support 3G, 4G/LTE, and 5G services. The key LTE bands commonly used include Band 20 (800 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), and Band 7 (2600 MHz), which roaming eSIMs are likely to connect to. For 5G, Band n78 (3.5 GHz) is the primary commercial band deployed across the country.
All three local carriers issue eSIMs, making it straightforward for international roamers to obtain local connectivity through digital SIM activation. Roaming eSIMs connecting to Portuguese networks will primarily rely on the LTE and 5G bands mentioned above, depending on location and network availability.
